ASK ME HOW MY DIET IS GOING

This is me sticking to the bean diet. What is the bean diet? We you eat beans for breakfast and 1 other meal. Normal folks it would be lunch for the other meal, but I'm sleep till 10 am or so every day that I can. So... I end up having breakfast at lunch time. Then dinner is chicken (I can cook it 500 ways). Then beans again at about 9 pm. I eat dinner at about 4:30 pm or 5 pm.

It's been a hell of a struggle this last year worth of this diet as I been falling off the wagon 50% of the time. That makes for gaining weight or losing only a tinny bit. I've gone 47 weeks into the year (I started in March) and 17 of them I gained weight - most of the time kind of a lot of it. Sigh.

But 28 weeks I have lost weight and 2 weeks there was no change at all. So In all this term I have lost 33.2 lbs. 3 years ago (2 years on the diet) I topped out at 498 lbs. So I have lost 139.6 lbs so far in that time. Last term I lost 73.4 lbs and struggled a lot less, also lost less each week on average.

I managed to drop 33 lbs on no actual diet the first year of it.

5 more weeks in this term and I hope to drop a total of 70 lbs - I don't know if it will happen, but I'm going to try.

When you are addicted to food you can't just stop eating. So in a way it's harder than most other addictions because you CAN stop them. Eating causes me to feel the reward of the addiction and it's easy because of that to just get a pizza and oink out.

My entire childhood and teen years food was a reward system and an emotional support. This trend lasted my entire life. When I was very little my parents would give me too much food and I would say "I'm full" and they would make me sit at the table until I finished the food. The regarded not finishing the plate as "a sin". I thus ended up in a situation where I could no longer tell when I was full.

I have literally no excuse for falling off the wagon so much. most of the time I have not had any emotional downfalls of any kind and have been happy most of the time. So I just did it because it felt good and kept doing it because it felt good the last time.

See to me it's way better than sex. Eating is the most pleasurable thing I do. The act of eating alone give pleasure. There is way more pleasure when it tastes good - lets face it most of us have been trained to think processed and sugar filled food is better tasting.

The strange thing is, most people who where raised with no sugar or processed food don't like that kind of food when they try it. Yet if they eat it enough they start to like it and it becomes addicting.

Sugar is like a drug in your body. It triggers pleasure receptors and when you stop eating it you body craves it and you feel sick. If you have had an addiction to drugs or know someone who has, this will be familiar. Until the body adjusts to not getting sugar you feel a physical need for it.

Like all drugs not all people actually get the same thing out of it and some never get the sickness but most do. Processed food has a lot of chemicals in it that act in a similar manner just not nearly as badly as sugar does.

The strange thing is raw sugar is way less addicting and way less harmful to your body.

In any event - this is me trying my best not to fall off the wagon until I get done with my term at least. Yes I will treat myself now and then - you literally have to do this or your brain starts hating the diet. Most of us do need the treat now and then - just NOT OFTEN.

2 DAYS OF DINNER

Chicken breast. Veggie stock. Tomato paste. Thai pepper flakes. Worcestershire sauce. Veggies. Slow cooker on high for 2 hours. (Making 2 more days of this right now - already have enough sauce for 4 more days).

* I get the chicken in bulk in a 4 kg (8.8 lb) box. The are boneless and skinless. They also have salt water injected into them - so they don't need much salt if any. *
Baked chicken breast with chalet sauce, hot sauce and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Kind of went heavy on the veggies this time and it was a large breast so it was filling to say the least.

Collection or Obsession?

Collection or obsession is a good question. I am kind of big time into getting Pusheen toys in the house. I did however just spend $22 on a new kitty that was not a Pusheen. Still...

I started collecting stuffed toys years ago. I got one every time Mom went into the hospital - I can't even tell you why, I just did.

Later on I gave almost all of those away as I was not attached to them at all. I just kept 1 out of that batch (a cow). I also ended up getting a stuffed bear for Mom and bringing home the stuffed dog she had in her apartment when she went into the home. Still have all of them.

I now have 11 Pusheen toys, the big fluffy white kitty, a bear, a cow and a dog.

Before the Pusheen toys a person came into my place and saw all the stuffed toys and assumed I was "special needs" for some reason. I mean talk about not getting the facts, but I just ignored it. Not like you can change peoples minds these days after they make an assumption - it almost never works.

I have to say the only think keeping me from having a LOT more Pusheen and the like toys is money. If I ever win the lotto I'm literally going to have a room with all the walls lined with stuffies.

Now I am a 51 year old male - so this in it's self makes people wonder why Pusheen as the vast majority of fans are female. But yes there are a few of us in the world who are male and love that cat.

The best thing is, years ago I looked at an obsessed collector and thought "I'm never going to do that". HA and here I am. Funny story that as well, that fellow complains he never has money then spends thousands on collectibles every year. Well there is no reconciling the logic for collecting - there is NONE - we just do it.

Would like to know if you collect anything - let me know in the comments please :) Have a good day.

A LOT OF DAYS IN A ROW

Well it's been a long road of vlogging every single day in a row. I did not intend on doing this at first. In fact I just wanted to get threw VEDA then I wanted to go 3 months then a year and well I just kept going. After the 2K mark I stopped setting goals - it's all bonus now. I'm not the most exciting vlogger in the world but I have a following of people who enjoy watching my vlogs, most of whom, I enjoy watching them as well.

If you have not seen my videos the link is HERE.

There is a link on the about page to my Tag Video channel as well and other social media. Have a great day folks :)

P.S. I'm trying the 365 day selfie challenge on Instagram this year as well - I might not make that one as it's not a habit like the vlogs.

TIME TO GIVE THANKS

So I am in a brain fog today to a small extent, but this day has been great so far. I woke up with a sore back but for some reason I was in a great mood. I love it when the universe lines up just right and everything makes you smile.

It's one of those I'm grateful kind of days as well. I am sure as hell just that, grateful for everything and every one in my life.

I give thanks for:

  • All the great people who give me love and support.
  • Having a nice apartment that I can afford.
  • The disability plan I'm on that feeds and cloths me.
  • The ability to go out with friends now and then and enjoy talking to them.
  • That I have been able to get all the stuffed toys I have collected as they give me a great deal of joy in my life.
  • For a strong belief in a God and an afterlife.
  • For being able to read books and listen to music and enjoy art.
  • To be able to create art (even if I'm just OK at it).
  • To be able to hang out online with all my friends who give me love.
  • The ability to cook food I enjoy eating.
  • The encouragement to lose weight that I need so much (from friends and strangers alike).
  • Living in a city I have loved to live in most of my life.
  • The inspiration of the people who I hang out with threw their words and art that make me want to create and be a better person.
  • Being warm and safe and dry (a good number of people don't have this).
  • That I live in a place where people care for the poor and the disabled instead of tossing them aside.
  • Well, the list is much longer - but you get the point I think.

God bless and thank you to all who have made my life so good these many years.

WE WILL NEVER BE FREE OF OURSELVES

The majority of people I hang out with believe in some form of God. Some however had no God at all in their life and don't expect an afterlife to exist.

Among the ones that do believe, there is a very wide range of systems of belief spanning several religions and a multitude of forms of Christianity in the mix.

We are all for different backgrounds and live different lives. A good number are disabled and can't work. Some are retired and don't work and others hold jobs.

We are all colours and sizes and shapes and ages and sexualities and genders (more than 2). We are a strange lot for the most part as well - but in a very fun way.

There are several common things to most of the group but only 1 thing spans the entire group - we don't piss on each other for being different. We all get along and have love and respect for each other.

This has not always been the case however with several people losing their shit on me and others this last while. That being said, the group seems to now be down to the people who are stable and loving and not interesting in being the center of attention or being right at all costs.

We disagree but we don't push it. If someone has an opinion that is not like ours no one jumps on them for having it - they just state they think different and everyone moves on.

We also tend to all have a fundamental respect for human life no matter their station or wealth level. This carries over to us tending to care about the welfare of people and animals.

We support each other when it is needed. We show we care in many ways and we laugh and love together. We are more like a family than my actual family (they literally don't talk to me because I'm pansexual and disabled).

My online family is very important to me as it is to most of the people I hang out with online. If someone has not posted in a few days we go asking others if they know they are OK. My real family would not care if they say me on fire - so this is a great thing to me.

It is easy when spending a lot of time with online and real life friends to forget that most people are not like this - most are out for themselves and what makes them happy. For a lot of us our circle of friends has replaced actual family.

I just wish the world worked like we do - there would be no starving children and people dropping dead because they can't afford health care. There would be no war and poverty on the same streets as the super rich. But that is a dream and will NEVER be reality.

Lets face it humanity will never (for the most part) be more than angry greedy people. Hate and fear of those not like us will always be part of us and we will always divide into groups that don't like the other groups. We can hope but we will never be free of ourselves.

Done with Bryce 7.1 Pro the model is no longer on the web page it was on - nor is ANY Bryce stuff, so no link. After all Bryce is so old no one supports it now and there will never be an update I'm sure.

PLAYING WITH TEXT

5 RANDOM PHOTOS OF ME

All photos taken on my phone and played with in Facebook Stories.

Fluffykins is Here

It's here! I ordered this the other day and left myself short on money for the rest of the month to have it but LOOK AT IT. It was vacuum packed flat when it came but popped right up when I opened the bag. I had to mess with the hair a bit to get the ears and eyes to show though. So very cute and I named her "Fluffykins". It's almost a foot tall and the tail is very long. She will be getting a good review on Amazon :)

5 RANDOM PHOTOS AND WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT

Don't think this thing was made for that. These where in the laundry room to be given away. I don't want them - I'm sure someone else took them by now. BTW I have issues with these holders - they hold the cups tight and I fear splashing myself getting them out of the dang thing.
This is the bathroom - the worst place for dust. 5 days before this I had deep cleaned the bathroom. So this has collected in the corners and under the scale since then. The vent on the ceiling over the tub is furry and I had cleaning it as well.
I tried in all kinds of light to get a good photo of these forks - they ALWAYS look like lead when I take a photo of them. It's kind of amazing. If I use the flash it still looks black and had a lot of glare. So ya know, no can do.
After cleaning out an entire drawer in Moms apartment filled with these I said to myself "I'm never going to do that". Well here there are - a big stack of napkins I will literally never use. So rather than stuff them in a drawer for the rest of my life, they are going downstairs where people can use them when they have the coffee and toast thing down there. OK I said that 4 days ago and here they are still - sigh.
Unmotivated to get out of bed, Pusheen tries to make me get up and make the coffee. LOL. This is my favorite thing in the world, the first Pusheen I ever got.

FIVE DINNERS (WHAT I EAT)

Curried chicken and bean. Brown curry.
Roasted chicken with sweet chili heat sauce (home made). It consists of tomato sauce, honey, Thai chili, garlic and corn starch to make it thick.
Bean and veggie mix with a bit of the above sauce in it.
Same as above but with chicken in it.
Reaper sweet chili heat chicken. I tossed it in the slow cooker for 2 hours on high. 1 large breast, mixed veggies the rest of the sauce I made and a bit of ground reaper peppers. It was literally the most spicy thing I have ever eaten. It had my eyes watering it was so hot. But DANG it was good. The sauce was getting too thick so I used it up.
