3 YEARS AGO TODAY

Took this 3 years ago today. Kind of a nice looking day. I don't actually remember what it was like, but we went to the park obviously. It's kind of cold today and topped out at 10C only. It's also trying it's darnedest to drop some rain on us. But of well, I'm staying in anyway.

Coffee Is A Big Part Of My Life

A nice cup of coffee is a great thing to say the least. Well this is discount coffee, but It's not terrible. It's the store brand from Real Canadian Superstore. It comes in a large yellow container. There is rather a lot of it in the container, and it is not going to keep fresh for the rest of the month, but that's OK I guess. The stuff is not terrible, in fact it's better than most of the coffee I've had when out for coffee with friends. It's not close to Lavazza of course, but what is that is not supper expensive. I've been sent coffee that was worse than this stuff and was far more expensive for the person sending it, and not enjoyed it as much as the No Name coffee (that's the brand name.) I find coffee to be a great joy and I have cut down to one strong cup of coffee a day, but I really need to be having that one cup. It is my pleasure for starting the day with. July Blogging Challenge Day 12

Write one thing that made me feel loved today. These shortbread cookies by Walker's. A friend sent them to me as a gift off of my Amazon Wishlist and I feel very loved by this. She is one of the nicest people I've ever encountered. She goes far out of her way to help other people. Right now she is very loaded down with helping family and it's a big deal in her life. But she took the time to show me some love and I appreciate it deeply. She is one of the people I love like family that I've never met face to face. I'd love to have a coffee with her some day - but It's 99% of a chance I will never be able to do that. She is a blessing to all who knows her and one in many millions.

The Importance of Coffee to Me

Do I enjoy coffee? Well yes I do and rather a lot. To me the act of making coffee in my Moka Pot and then consuming it while it is still hot - hot to the point it needs to be slurped, is a great pleasure and a great joy. It enriches my life to say the least. It is almost to the point of being spiritual to me. It's not just a wakeup in the morning, it's a start to my day with a nice warm hug from a mug of coffee. I got into coffee as a teen when friends and I would go to a truck stop and have coffee. It became part of my social life for many years. I have to say I did not drink it at home for a very long time. Then all the sudden in my late 30's, I desired to have it in my home. I got a drip maker and since then I've had many coffee makers including a fancy pod machine given to me by a great friend. But not one of them came close to the joy that is the Moka Pot to me. The Fifth Estate (1976 - Still Going) Documentary, News This was a show that I remember my Mom and Dad watching once a week. Later in life I watched it as well. I no longer watch it as I’m no longer interested in news. At the time in the 70’s I did not really get what it was all about, I just wanted to be with my parents while they watched it. My brother never did stay for it if I remember correctly. Hockey Night in Canada (1952 - Still Going) Sports Dad watched this all the time in the 70’s and 80’s then just kind of stopped. I now watch it on my own. I love Hockey and CFL (Canadian Football). At the time I just was there for it – was not interested in sports until I was much older. Marketplace (1972 - Still Going) News, Consumer Affairs This is the consumer affairs show in Canada.
