My New Cuisinox Moka Pot
2. There she is, it's bigger than the old one but is supposed to make the same amount of coffee (9 espresso cups).
3. Here it is with the water in the base like you are supposed to do. It does indeed hold slightly more water than the old one does.
4. Nicely filled with Lavazza Rosa coffee (espresso). You don't want to over-fill it, just a bit from the top and don't pack it too tight. I wish I had one of those whisk tools for this task, they tend to make it slightly better, as it takes all the clumps out before you pack it a bit.
5. Here it is on the stove. People with a gas stove will notice, it doe not sound the same as on an electric stove for some reason. It makes a gurgling sound when it's brewing on the electric, but on the gas, it only makes that sound just before it's done I'm told (and from seeing video). The electric stove seems to make it a bit faster as well. One would think that the gas would be just as hot, but I guess not.
6. Here is a shot of the brand name (Cuisinox). I've not owned one before. The last was a different brand and the one before it a different one from either this or the last one.
7. All 3 of the brands of Moka pot I've owned did the same thing. As it's brewing, there will be a slight drip down the back of it from the lid. It runs down past the handle and makes a nice fizzing sound as it hits the very hot base and boils. The last one did it way worse I have to say. When the seal went on the old one, it ended up with black gunk all over the base, as the coffee was shooting out the sides past the ring that is supposed to prevent that.
8. A nice strong cup of rich flavorful coffee to enjoy. It's been about a week, and I was super glad to get a drink of proper coffee for a change. I seriously enjoyed my cup of coffee.
