Coffee or Not Coffee That Is The Question

Image
I got this on sale for a bit less than $7 a bag (250g). It's very good and I like it a lot. The thing is, it's now almost $10 a bag. The other blends of Lavazza coffee are almost $8 a bag. Now I tend to use 5 bags a month on average for just 1 cup of coffee a day with my large Moka Pot. This has become a very large expense to say the least. Sure I can get a close to 1KG can of coffee for $16 at my local store, but it it worth the price at all? I don't think it is. If I have coffee at home, I want to be able to enjoy the hell out of it, not just use it to wake up. The entire point of coffee to me is the ritual of making it, and the great pleasure I get in consuming a very good cup of coffee. So when it's going to set me back close to $43 a bloody month to have coffee at home, I think I'll skip it to say the least. Six months ago that was about $28 a month. So in half a year, the price has gone through the bloody roof and it's become the luxury of the wealthy to a...

What do you love about your hometown? There are a lot of nice people here who are willing to help their community. There is a sense of belonging. The city is very beautiful for the most part as well - the older arias are thick with trees and it's like living in a forest. It's not too large, so it's easy to get any place you need to go in short amounts of time. For being a not so large place, the city still has a great deal of places to shop, eat, drink, and be entertained. We have a history of being a artistic community as well. The amount of artists, song writers, poets, and so on is way higher in Moose Jaw than in most communities. We have our detractors, like the hospital not being big enough or as well staffed as it should be, and a large drug problem for our size. However, I have not wanted to live any other place in very many years. I love Moose Jaw, and I don't ever want to be any other place. I was born in Saskatoon, but I only spent 11 months there before being...

What is your favorite time of the day? 4AM. It's the perfect time to wake up and be alive I think. It's still quiet and calm and I can enjoy a cup of coffee without someone in the hall being loud or a car racing down the street. All is good with the world and it brings me a lot of peace. I can think then and just be happy for a while.

25 movies From the 1970’s That Were Sociologically Important

Image
This is a list of 25 movies from the 1970’s that were sociologically important in their time. They were said to predict how society will eventually evolve. Some of the elements of these movies already exist and others seem to be moving toward still. In some cases, it’s speculation on how nature will turn on us, or how technology is to become completely in control. Of course there is the rise of the machine. There is also in one case the fact that it predicted virtual reality decades before it could possibly have become a reality. One even puts forth that we are not actually real, but a simulation. You can click the name, and a tab will pop-up and you can see the IMDB for that movie. In green you will see the IMDB rating then MY rating, as I’ve seen and rated all of these movies. I would recommend watching most of these movies, if not all in your lifetime. I think today’s movies don’t say enough, they rely on flash and action, and not story and plot. These movies heavily rely on the sto...

What are you grateful for in your daily life? Friends mostly. They lift me up and keep me strong. They give me the desire to keep on keeping on. Music. This is a big part of my life and I spend a heck of a lot of time listening to music with my headphones on. Social media. This is the place most of the people I care deeply for live, and I get a lot of pleasure out of it. Streaming. This keeps me distracted and at times gives me something to focus on when I need not to be lost in my own thoughts. Pusheen the Cat. I love almost everything Pusheen. My favorite thing I own is a Pusheen plush toy. She helps me get rid of the panic attacks and the tears. Social Housing. I'm glad that I can be in a place that lets me pay rent that is based on how much I have for income. Other places now are very much out of my price range and I would starve in the dark living in even a dive these days. This is a nice place with mostly nice people and management keeps things on the level, repaired, and qui...

What is nature to you? Mostly it's diversity. There is so much to the natural world that is beautiful and inspirational. Yes, nature can be cold, harsh, and violent. But even in the winter where everything is covered in snow and the trees have no leaves, the world is stunning to look at. A sunset or a sunrise can be so inspirational, and give you strength when you are down. To see a bird fly is to marvel in the majestic manner of flight and the dream of being able to fly. A flower is art that we can only come close to preproducing - even a photo of a flower falls short of it's glory. Lastly, it's not made by human hands. Most of the things in our society are cold, harsh and not at all welcoming. We build buildings that look like giant tombs to house manufacturing. We put up mile after mile of the same house, until you feel there is no individuality left in us, and we are lost to the vast machine that swallows' our souls and our minds. Have you noticed, depression is vas...

What gift are you grateful to have received? This is not a gift in the sense of something you can hold. It is a gift of the soul as it's been said. I was raised to accept my body for being natural, and to not look down on others for how they look. My father, brother and I were "at home nudists", that is to say, we were often nude around the house in the evenings. We would watch a movie at night on the TV in the buff. This taught me to see myself as natural and normal. I also was taught to look at others in the same way. I was told we are all different and no one is more worthy of self respect than anyone else. This was the gift of not giving a shit what others think of how I look, or who they think I am as a person. As dad put it, "Their opinion of you is their problem, not yours." Well in practice the opinion of others can keep you from getting a job and so on, but as for self respect, it is not at all important. They don't like you, they can just go be aro...

Think of a coworker who made a positive impact. Way back when I was a painter for a short time. I was the head of the crew (3 of us) that was working at night painting an industrial kitchen. There was Jay, and Shannon. Well Shannon was a seriously positive person. She always made the work go faster with her jokes and her conversation. Interesting thing about her. We were born on the same day, in the same hospital 3 hours apart. That was in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We both ended up moving to Moose Jaw before the age of 1. Me because I was adopted, her because her father moved here for work. I did not keep in touch with her, but wish I did. It's been a very long time, and I don't recall her last name - and it may have changed anyways.

What social media platform do you use often? By far, that would be Facebook. I check it 8 or 9 times a day on average. All my good friends are there and a bunch of content I like to see. Once you filter out the people who give stress and hide a shit tone of pages and ads that you don't want around, it tends to be a lot more pleasurable to be on Facebook. Messenger is also something I hit often in the day, as I have a group chat that has been going for years now and we toss a lot of stuff back and forth and chat a lot. It gives us the opportunity to share with each other stuff that FB would ban us for or horrify most people LOL. Second has to be Bluesky. I tend to post a few things a day including links to this blog. I can also post nudes of myself on there as part of the nudist community. I honestly hate when I follow someone, or they follow me, then I find porn in the page - it's an instant block when I see that shit. That is not being a nudist, it's being an exhibitionist...
