I no longer watch it as I’m no longer interested in news. At the time in the 70’s I did not really get what it was all about, I just wanted to be with my parents while they watched it. The approximate estimate is a factor of 7.9 times the shootings per equivalent population in the USA. Remember, this is based on a low estimate. A mass shooting in both countries is counted as 4 or more victims. It's interesting that government statistics show extremely few mass shootings in the USA, but independent sources show vastly more.  So is gun control actually working in Canada, or is our culture just way less violent minded? I don't have enough data on that point to tell. I just know that over 90% of illegal guns in Canada are smuggled from the USA.
