I'm Freezing - My Body Hates the Cold

It's bloody cold out there today and  has been for 3 days. My body does not want to be in this nonsense. It's cold in my apartment but then again I'm cold most of the time - it's just I'm seriously cold right now. The heat is not keeping up to this as the building is from 1974 and the giant windows let in a tone of cold air (they are not very energy efficient).

I remember it being -40c to -50c at times in January as a kid. In -30c weather we would go sledding on the hill 8 blocks from where I lived and we would walk there to do it. It did not bother us at all. In fact would make snow forts and have snowball fights.

As a teen I'd venture out in weather like this to hang out with friends as well. No snowballs or sledding, but we would hang out in the back yard and talk for an hour before we got too cold and all went home.

I've been camping in -15c weather many times, but at this level of cold, I'd not be out in a tent for sure. Winter camping is a heck of a fun thing to do if you ask me. We would not go out very far into the bush for it of course, as if we needed to get to the car because of weather, we could just do it If you are 2 hours hike into the bush and it starts to dump snow or the temperature start plummeted, you are screwed - so we stayed close to the car.

There used to be a snow festal here years ago - all the way into the 1990's. There would be ice sculptures and events. It was at what was then called S.T.I. It's still a training center, but the name has changed several times. But I don't think there is even enough snow this year to do that.

In the day we got several feet of snow by the end of January and it was piled up all over the place. For over a decade it's been almost no snow most of the time. We got a good dump last year but only the one. Most years it's not been that bad at all.

So back to today - it's just too cold for this nudist right now.  Normally I'm naked in my apartment and when doing tags or vlogs I put a shirt on only. But I'm fully dressed at the moment, because I'm bloody cold. I don't get how people can just not ignore it - I guess I forgot how I used to just ignore the cold as a youth and early adult.

My body does not like cold or damp anymore. I have arthritis and Fibromyalgia and it effects both of those things and this is literally painful to be in the cold, so I'm kind of in hell from it. But at least it looks like it's only going to be -11c on Thursday when I go for coffee. That is a blessing - Thursdays coffee was canceled due to the extreme cold (this is Sunday).
