Trip To The ER and Sent Home Way To Soon

Went to the ER last night. At 6PM I started to shake all over my body and was in a terrible brain fog and dizzy and light headed. So I called 911 and went into the ER. I was in a hell of a shape for a while there. Then they gave me a med that can be addictive at higher dosages, and it worked like a charm. The tremors toned down very soon.

Unfortunately I was left in a state where it was not safe for me to walk and I was very much a fall risk. But they sent me home in a cab anyway. I was so upset at that. I thought it would be a lot safer for me to stay overnight and get my balance back.

A fall when you are on blood thinners can kill you. You hit your head and poof bleed into the brain and you are dead soon. So it's not cool to have been sent home like that when I literally said, "I'm not safe like this."

You can see the IV line spots. The first one blew out and the second one worked like a charm. I have very hard veins to get into. The guy who did the bloodwork was bloody amazing - he just got it in there and got blood out with no trouble at all. Typically they make at least 2 holes in me and need to drill around a bit to get blood. This guy was a pro.

Nurses where nice and I got a referral for home care and for physio. I need very much to get the mobility in my legs back. I also need to improve strength in my legs and arms I think.

Home care can help with my feet and lower legs that I just can't clean myself. It's a bitch from hell loosing the independence and ability to do it myself, but I literally can't get in the shower or safely bend over now.

Let's see what the future holds shall we.

  1. I really hope you get the Home Care, Dave.
It's not something that you want, I know, but it's something that you definitely need.
It will be good to have someone around with you too, to talk, to keep you company.
Everything will be alright, my friend.

    1. Don't need company. I do need the help caring for myself though for sure.
