All Them GPU's and It's Still Slow - AI Image Generator Rant

This is a screen cap of Deep Dream Generator. They estimate 20 seconds to make the image and then it's at over 2 and a half minutes and still rendering. It took a total of just under 3 minutes.

Now the AI industry has grabbed up all the GPU's out there on mass to create server farms of GOU driven image generators - with all this power you got to wonder why it's so bloody slow.

I do know that some of them like Bing Image Creator will slow it down to try and get you to give them money to generate images faster, but I don't know if this is the case - it's not a selling point on DDG.

Bing on the other hand, wait about 20 seconds, then hit refresh on the browser and you generally get the image much faster than the time it says it's going to take.

They tell you at Bing that after your 12 tokens are used for the day, it takes longer as you get low priority. It's a lie - you have the same priority, they just keep it covered up for longer before they show it to you and the refresh gives it to you faster (at least as of the time of this post.)

A friend is actually paying DDG to be able to render more images per day and more importantly to him, post more of them publicly. If you don't pay, you don't get all the generators and you can only post 5 images public in 24 hours.

I literally have to wonder if the image generation industry is so popular right now that this is happening because there is just so bloody many people on the servers at one time. This must be bringing in a shit pile of money - say 20% of people subscribe and don't just keep the free version like I do, at $19.99 USD a month for the lowest end subscription, this turns out to be a lot of money being I read over a million people are using DDG.

I never did try to make more than one account with more email addresses to see if I can get more points per day, because I literally don't care, but you probably could. However DDG new members need to have a certain amount of likes on their images before they become a "deep dreamer" and get the 70 points a day, before that it's very few points.

Also a couple of times I have had more likes that someone on the front page and wonder how they pick them to spotlight. Generally however, they do tend to have a tone more likes than I get, but not always.

In any event, the price of GPU's is insane right now because of the image generation industry, and I still have to wait almost 3 minutes to get my bloody image created so I can make more Jigsaw Puzzles to play. No way I'm giving you my money - I'd rather have Netflix for the price thanks.

Playing Castle of the Winds 1 and 2 on a 64 bit Windows Machine (And Cheats)

Below is information on how to run COTW 1 and 2 on a 64 bit windows machine. As well there is saved game hack info you can use or not. At the bottom is some helpful hints on starting the game. The above image is a screen cap of the COTW 2 village where you start. The games are simple, but actually challenging if you do not cheat. You can play Castle of the Winds 1 and 2 on a 64 bit windows box with the emulator OTVDM . It's rather easy to find the games on abandonware sites. If you want to cheat on the game, you will need a hex editor, I recommend Hexinator . Download and unzip OTVDM then copy the COTW folders into it. Häagen-Dazs Pralines & Cream Ice Cream is as all of the brand, normally expensive, but I got this on sale for $5. A Praline is a candied Pecan. They are soft for a nut and sugared as heck. The taste is just what you would expect if you put sugar and caramel on a Pecan. The top of the container had a bunch of caramel on top (syrup like) and not much anywhere else in the ice cream. However it fills your mouth with the taste of it and you keep tasting it long after you finish the ice cream. This is a very pleasant treat to say the least. It's top quality and above the norm for ice cream. It was however not as rich as I expected it would be for some reason.
