Shedding My Skin?

This is the mattress of my nice new to me hospital bed. It is covered in a rubber to keep fluids out of it. Yes, this is needed for some people and a darn good idea as it is more healthy.

I washed it off the day before I took this photo with a damp cloth and got all the dead skin off, so I could see how much there was in one night. Well, the answer is rather a lot.

I shed skin like crazy and on my hands there seems to be some kind of production of oil with this and it ends up as a grey past on things like my grab bar in the bathroom. My upper legs at the back do the same thing. But my lower legs and the rest of my body just deposits a lot of skin flakes.

I know (in person) only one other person who has this much dead skin coming off. I can't shower anymore, so I have home care bath me once a week (sponge bath). I can't reach my lower legs without a lot of pain, so I don't moisturize daily - it just happens bath day.

My (no dead) best friend ever told me I'm part reptile as I shed my skin so much LOL. I really miss her. I with I had met her in the 1990's - I think we would have ended up married for sure, but this is a different story.

I have extremely dry skin. For some reason most of my body does not produce the oil that most people do in proper quantities. So dunes of dead skin.
