CRANES IN THE PARKING LOT (NOT BIRDS)

A couple of cranes in the parking lot this week. The white one put those large bags of stuff on the roof (11 floor building), and the red one took them back down. They have been there 6 days now, so it's more than just a patch job.

The approximate estimate is a factor of 7.9 times the shootings per equivalent population in the USA. Remember, this is based on a low estimate. A mass shooting in both countries is counted as 4 or more victims. It's interesting that government statistics show extremely few mass shootings in the USA, but independent sources show vastly more.  So is gun control actually working in Canada, or is our culture just way less violent minded? I don't have enough data on that point to tell. I just know that over 90% of illegal guns in Canada are smuggled from the USA. I guess we need to tell the Americans to stop fucking around and police their boarders better. Oh wait, that's our job, just like it's their job to police drugs flowing into their country...

Knock It Off Samsung! I Don't Want This Shit

This is the new annoyance feature with Samsung phones. See, I port my phone to the PC a couple of times a day to toss video and photos to the PC. But now there is this noise. I have to pull down the notification bad, then click a notification to get this crap - then I have to select transfer images, then give it my fingerprint to prove it's me. Well, I unlocked the fucking phone 30 seconds ago, so it should be me. I honestly think developers stay up at night thinking of how to make it way less convenient to use the bloody UI. This is ridiculous. Don't give me "safety feature" either - how about let me do what I've been doing for many years and just port it and open it like a drive when the phone is unlocked. Sigh. Seriously thinking of getting a Pixel next time. Samsung has been going out of it's way to loose customers the last year it seems. First came bloody UI 7 and it totally fucked the phones up, now this shit. Every update I wonder what will be fucked up...

The Fifth Estate (1976 - Still Going) Documentary, News This was a show that I remember my Mom and Dad watching once a week. Later in life I watched it as well. I no longer watch it as I’m no longer interested in news. At the time in the 70’s I did not really get what it was all about, I just wanted to be with my parents while they watched it. My brother never did stay for it if I remember correctly. Hockey Night in Canada (1952 - Still Going) Sports Dad watched this all the time in the 70’s and 80’s then just kind of stopped.
