Häagen-Dazs Pralines & Cream Ice Cream - Review
Häagen-Dazs Pralines & Cream Ice Cream is as all of the brand, normally expensive, but I got this on sale for $5.
A Praline is a candied Pecan. They are soft for a nut and sugared as heck. The taste is just what you would expect if you put sugar and caramel on a Pecan.
The top of the container had a bunch of caramel on top (syrup like) and not much anywhere else in the ice cream. However it fills your mouth with the taste of it and you keep tasting it long after you finish the ice cream.
This is a very pleasant treat to say the least. It's top quality and above the norm for ice cream. It was however not as rich as I expected it would be for some reason.
There where a lot of nuts in the container, but not too many - I think there was just enough to satisfy the nut lover in me (I heard you snicker!) The taste is exceptional, but not over the top good.
On the downside the after taste won't go away, seriously, it's been 2 hours and I still taste it in my mouth. It's expensive as heck for the amount you get. There is a tone of sugar in this.
On the plus side, I enjoyed the hell out of it. It is a bit more than a single serving should be, but you don't want just a bit left for later, so it's an excuse to eat it all - and probably not feel guilt.
I'm going to put this at a 7.5/10 - I'm knocking half a point off, because the taste won't go away and I want it too.
Note: Pralines are made a dozen different ways and are common in the Southern part of the USA. This is just the companies spin on them.
