July Blogging Challenge Day 23
What do you wish you had done differently?
1. I wish I had never joined a youth group that ended up with me being molested by my youth pastor. It's amazing how often you hear about child abuse of child porn and it's a bloody pastor or some kind of person who works with kids. Almost always a person who calls themselves a Christian in our country.
2. Went to Africa to work when I had the opportunity. I think it would have looked great on a resume and the experience would most likely have make me a much bolder person when dealing with the world.
3. Never worked for a commission selling stuff. I tried this twice, and both times ended up loosing money on the bloody job. I was worse off after both times, and it wasted a lot of my time trying to be a sales person when I don't have the personality to do that. You have to be rather exploitive to do it I think, and make money.
4. Become a cook a lot more early in my life, and not wasted a pile of money on education (student loans) for things that never got me a single job. I was qualified and never once got the job after an interview. In fact several times I was told the job was filled, then later found out someone I knew got the job days later. They all just hated the plus sized guy - so it was a waste of my time completely.
5. Never got into a relationship where I let people move in with me. All three times this ended up with me living with a woman who was controlling, manipulative, and would lay hands on me. They all ended up with bad breakups and one of them stalked me for months after.
6. Saved money when I was young and able to work, rather than traveling and having fun at every opportunity. If I would have invested that money instead, I'd have been a lot better off in the end. I'd not be rich, but I'd be better off than on disability for bloody sure.
