July Blogging Challenge Day 22

Who are/where you closest to in your family? Why?

Like most people I know, that would be my Mother. She was always there to comfort me when I needed it. She spent a lot more time with me than my Father did. My Brother was kind of a jerk when we where living in the same house, and he never really grew into a good person in his life.

I think there is an inherent bond between a Mother and her children that is just not there for a Father most of the time. I think this has been happening for as long as humans existed. It was not in favor of society to say this until my lifetime I think, however.

There has been a lot written in the ages about the bond between people and their Mother. Some of those things dark as hell, but most of them speak of a special bond that will never happen with anyone else in your life. The bond with your Mother can't be repeated with any life partner you will have.

Unfortunately, for some the Mother figure is a seriously bad thing in their lives, but for most of us, it's a very important figure in our lives.

I'd saw well more than half of who I am today stems from my Mothers influence on me. She made me a good person, and someone who is capable of love and kindness.

  1. Mom was not bad but if it had not been for Grandpa not wanting abortions in the family I.would not be here, neither would my cousins. I was closest with my grandma.

    1. If abortion was legal in Canada in 1966 I'd probably not be here. My biological mother was 13 and the father was 45. I only ever know one grandparent, grandma Nicholson. She was cool.
