PAIN AFTER HERNIA REPAIR

Rare but known complication of mesh hernia repair is persistent spikes of sharp pain. It's most likely caused be nerves in contact with the mesh. I seem to have this. I've read most of the time it goes away within three months. More uncommon it can last for the rest of your life. I'm hoping it goes away soon. It's not terrible and I can live with it, but explaining it is a bother. When people see you wince in pain, they tend to ask if you are OK or what is wrong. I rather not have to explain it or say I'll be OK for the next 20 years of my life.
