So I'm sick today, not in the standard "OMG why would you google that" kind of way - but physically sick. I have some tummy flu thing going on and I'm in level 7 pain. The good thing is, the color came back to my skin and I'm not pale white any more. The bad thing is OUCH.

So what do I do when I'm suffering and sick? Well post a bunch of blogs and edit a bunch of photos, what else would I do? Actually I'm going to sit in the easy chair for a while after this post and watch some TV and have something to eat. The last batch of food upset my tummy not nearly as much as this morning, so it's all good. The coffee on the other hand is not sitting well, but dang it COFFEE NOW.

BTW the photo is a mug I ordered for me and a guy I know, just for the LOLS. He is full on Gay and I'm Pansexual (look it up). Yes that sexuality that most people get wrong when they try to say what it is. In any event, it's been a laugh many times when people see it.

Well off to go die in the easy chair, have fun.

With the exception of a brief disagreement, Billy and I where like brothers. Yes I realize he was mostly full of it when he talked about all the things he did and so on, but I miss him. Once you got past the idea that he was trying to pretend he was some Radio star, he was a nice guy.

I was friends with Grant from the time I was 9 years old. It was a long lasting and close friendship. We shared a great deal of things over the many years and had a lot of great times. He was not the smartest person I knew, but he would do anything for anyone just to help. We watched TV for hours and did movie night every week for many years. Like me his family where not that great to him at times. He was my best friend for a long time. I will miss him for the rest of my days.

On old versions of Windows like the XP box I am using to post this blog, there is an issue with blocky text. This is most prevalent when you hit the web or start to type things into Word. To make the text nice and smooth follow the example above. Right click on the desk top and select "Properties". Click the "Appearance tab". Then click Effects and in the effects dialog check off the box you see in the image above and select "Clear Type". Apply the settings and nice smooth text from now on. Different versions have a slightly different layout, but you can find it I'm sure. This however might not work in Chrome as some of the older versions had a bug that ignored Clear Type settings.

12 Inch Pusheen. This was a fortune when I got it as I ordered it from the USA. There where no Canadian vendors then. Had to pay exchange, big time shipping and taxes. You also see the little dog. Mom gave that to me after she came home from a trip. She had a heart attack and was air lifted to Edmonton. I could not get to her, so I was very worried and she though of me and gave me this little gift when she came home.
Pusheenecorn 2, she guards the tissues.
Moms bear I got her when she was in the home, Moms stuffed dog she had in her apartment, Jasmine the Cow and the real Cookie Pusheen.
This is my pre-Gund 6 inch Pusheen Plush. It's my favorite thing on earth and if I can only save one thing, it's going to be her - sorry grandma.

So I feel sick as in some kind of flue type bug. Yet I did a silly thing and eat heavy food. I got a poutine (and did an evil thing by putting ketchup on it) and a double Teen Burger. Now my tummy hates me bad. Sigh. I don't actually know why I thought this was a good idea, but oh well.
I got extra onions, tomato and pickles on it as well. It was good, but yeah - not sitting well at all. I'm sipping on some ginger-ale at this moment and it's helping a little. I really should have just had some tomatoes or something, or some corn. But oh well.

I have a temperature but only just (low grade). I'm also hitting the bathroom kind of often. Headache but a slight one. It's not enough to stop me from cleaning a little. I did the bathroom almost and got the floors clean (not the carpet). I just have to clean the toilet and dust and I'm done. Oh and change the bed.

BTW had to try the ketchup thing just once. It was not right, did not suck, but was not right. So never again. Anyway, time for a nap then the dusting. Think I'll do the toilet tomorrow. Might wait to change the bed till then as well; will see how I feel after I dust.

In a great deal of cases this seems to be true. The sad thing is most of the time it's family that turns it's back on someone with a Chronic Illness. You have no idea how many friends have the same story as I do.

When I became Chronically ill 18 years ago I was all but cut out of my family. Only my mother and my one Aunt had any compassion for me at all. The rest of the family literally stopped talking to me and treated me like I was dead. The sad thing is, I'm not alone - others in the family had the same thing happen to them as well.

Cut to the rest of the world and random people. A great deal of people I don't know at all or I have never met in real life, treat me like a human being and with respect. They help me when I need it and have kind words when I need them. They are the polar opposite of my family.

I had 2 long term friends not understand at all as well. There are people I had known for most of my life. They literally where no help to me at all most of the time when I needed someone. Yet friends who where a lot more recent, came to me aid every time I needed a hand.

A good example was the one friend wanted to be PAID to vacuum my carpet for me when I was too hurt to do it myself. This was the end of the friendship and I realized he was never an actual friend but just some guy I had known for a long time.

Another example was a person I had know for over 20 years not wanting to drive me to the hospital when I had injured my knees. The guy was more interested in playing on Facebook than driving me to the ER and I ended up be taken by someone else. The result there was once again the end of the so called friendship.

A great deal of people I almost never have contact with over the years have been there when I needed a helping hand. As of late I have had several people donate small amounts of money to me online. These are people who only know me from my Vlogs and where kind enough to toss some spare cash my way.

Being on disability is a crushing task money wise as you don't really get much. So I was more than happy for this. It allowed me to catch up on some things I needed to get and provided with entertainment I would not have been able to afford otherwise.

Some people I know (most) don't have the money to give, but they are always there with kind words and support when I need it. They will listen and know the right things to say.

Family on the other hand will look away if they pass me in the store and pretend I don't exist. All the good family are dead and the ones left are not people I would bother to even talk to. Sigh.

Lets talk about random people on the street now. I have had people on may occasions help when I needed it in a physical manner. Hell one time I fell in the street and a cop did not stop at all, yet some random young teen helped me to my feet and walked me back to my apartment.

I've had people on many occasions when I was shopping and in a lot of pain, ask me if I was OK and offer to help me. Family on the other hand would not have bothered at all.

I have to say when Mom was alive I hid the fact it hurt like hell to take her shopping from her. I'm kind of glad she never noticed I was in a great deal of pain some times. I would not have liked to have her think that she caused the pain. So I tried my best to hide it and it worked.

This is another issue. We get used to the pain and we get used to not showing it. This saves a lot of explaining to people you see. So we end up in a doctors office or the ER and they don't think it's serious because we are not acting like a person who is hurt. Well, we are used to not acting that way LOL. So no pain meds for us.

Actually I'm about done with pain meds. They do nothing most of the time in the first place, so why bother. But it has put me in a place with a shoulder that is not in good shape and a doctor who thinks I'm either faking it or it's not worth a referral. Sigh.

In any event, you can see the original point is, the quote is quite true. Hugs and love.

This is my coffee of choice though at times it's $18 for a can of it. But it does last a month. Most of the time I end up getting it for about $10 though.

I like the dark roast a lot better than the Tradition. Thing is there is a slight bit less of it in the can for whatever reason.

It is quite a dark coffee but not the darkest I've had. But for the price of it it's great. It's slightly flat by the end of the month, but still quite good and very enjoyable.

I'd rate it a 8.5/10

This is a bit more kick than the Dark Roast, but it's also a lot less taste than it is. The Breakfast blend has the most kick but this is OK. If you have a problem with acid reflux this is more than likely a better option although it's not a strong taste.

It seems to get flat faster in the can as well. By the end of the month it did not hold up as well as the Dark Roast did. But it was again, OK.

The taste however is a problem as there is almost no taste to this one. It's very dull.

I'd rate it 3/10

I put this S**T on everything. LOL. OK I used to get Franks and loved it. Then I decided to spend half the money on Co-op Gold and found I liked it just as much. Also the extra hot seems to be 3 times as hot as the Franks extra hot. This is a bonus as it lasts longer. You might notice I also have the Co-op Gold beans. I like the brand and the price is always better.

Some times you get the store brand and it just sucks, but this is not the case with Co-op Gold I find. So anyway, if you are in Western Canada - you might go look for this stuff and see if you like it. Just a thought. And no - I'm not sponsored, I just like the stuff a lot and it saves me a lot of money.

So last night I could not sleep. I ended up nodding off at about 5:30 am and got almost no sleep at all. But this is the temperature outside at 4 am. The thing is, it was hot as hell in here and I was sweating. I could not turn the AC on as it would have frozen up I'm sure. So I sat in front of the fan and listened to music for some time then went back to bed.

It seems this building will hold the heat kind of well. The one time they changed the zone valves and left the heat OFF all night and it hit -38c that night. Well we got very cold, but it was not noticeable until around midnight when the building lost the heat it stored up from the sun.

It's an old building and more than likely has no form of insulation at all. As well the windows are not that modern and they don't hold back the heat well.

But I do have to say, this is the nicest place I have lived since I moved out on my own all them years ago. It's also the quietest. Sure there is road sounds as there is a lot of traffic around here, but hell the people are dead quiet.

In any event, I like it here and if I don't end up winning the lotto, I'll spend my days here for some time. That is unless I end up in a care home or drop dead. They check on us every day by the way, so I won't be dead for long before they find me. Anyway - Peace.

This is a recent review of the "6 inch Pusheen" Plush toy on Amazon. The thing with Amazon and toys is, you have to watch close who the seller is. Now and then they switch sellers for the item and don't seem to check on if they are good or bad sellers.

When I got Cookie Pusheen on Amazon, it ended up to be a Chinese knock off. It was a lot better quality of a knock off, but it was bootleg obviously. This one don't even look close.

Every single toy I've looked at on Amazon has the same issue, with bad reviews mixed with good reviews. There seems to have been rip-offs or not the right item in every last one I looked at.

This is why you need to click the seller name and look up how people have rated them. The seller for the Pusheen I got ended up being booted off Amazon, but the thing is - the same ones come back time and time again with a new company name. They are generally not in Canada or the USA and thus it's harder to check and a lot more easy to make a fake company up.

It's interesting that everything else I have ordered was the right item, but it seems that Toys are often not the one you think they are. That being said, I never did get my pill case I ordered. They did give my $1.38 back though.

As well I got a mask that was damaged and they refunded the money and I got to keep the damaged item. The same with bootleg Pusheen, she is sitting behind me right now.

See online shopping is not the same as going in a store and looking at an item. It's also not the same supply chain as literally anyone can claim to be selling an item and there seems to be no check to see if they are a valid vendor of the item. But it's very easy to shop online and it comes to your door.

The other thing with online is price. Sometimes the price is cray high for the item and sometimes it's crazy low for the item. An example of this was a $450 bag of chips. An example of low price was the ASA I just ordered. The company is a valid shipper of the product and the price is far less than in the store.

I get every 6 months a supply of supplements. They are often from the same company who sells them on Amazon. The price is lower than ordering from the company direct most times. It is also a vast amount less money than getting the same thing in the store in town. Hell I got 6 months of Hemp Oil for the price they wanted 2 months worth in town.

But as the toys, you have to check the quality of the seller. I almost went for a Pip (Pusheens little brother) and realized that the seller had a lot of bad ratings. Also when you see an item less then $35 with free shipping they are often NOT a valid outlet for the item and are from China (often).

This reminds me I need to go change a review for the pants I have on. At first they seemed to be OK but they are only 3 or 4 months old and are falling apart. Sigh. So yeah, now and then I end up changing a review on an item. But most of the time I'm happy with them.

I've also only had to send 2 items back for replacement and they where good enough to send a shipping label for free shipping back to Amazon in both cases. This is good as one of the items was more than likely 20 lbs. The shipping would have been a killer.

In any event, be wise and check the ratings for the sellers. As well look at the reviews, if there are a lot of almost the same review - there is something wrong. Keep your eyes open.

This is how the play interface looks. It shows you cover art and the song much like other streaming services do. It's a much cleaner look and feel than Google Play Music I have to say. You can as you see, like or dislike a song. You can also share it to social media or put it in a playlist. There is automatically the next song on the album or a related song that will play next. You CAN turn this off however if you don't want auto play next.

The sound quality is just as good as over on Google Play Music I found. The quality on videos seems to be improved over the standard YouTube player as well, no doubt to draw you over and try to sell you the premium version. There are ads every now and then and it will nag you to have premium from time to time as well. This is the same with any streaming service though.

There is the standard text search or the option to use voice as always. For some strange reason there does NOT seem to be the option to set it as default music playing in Google Assistant as of yet. This is kind of strange to me, you think they would have sent out a patch to include it by now. So you have to tell assistant to open the app or go and open it yourself, you can't just say "hay google, play music" and have it work. BTW the voice command is "open YT Music". In the system settings I could not set it to default as well for some reason. Got no idea there.

Here you see where I have liked a bunch of bands on a long list of bands. The list seems to be from bands I have looked up on my Google Account over on YouTube in the past. As well when you like a band, it springs forth several others in the list that are like that band to pick from. As always some of the "similar" bands are of no interest to me, but some where.
The discovery page is much the same as most streaming services. It shows you things it thinks you will be interested in and things that are popular or topical to the season or holiday. It also shows you things similar to the bands you have liked.

You put music in playlists and there is a "mix tape" of the bands you liked that you can play in order or on shuffle. You can like the songs or dislike the songs to make the predictive element of showing you music you like more accurate.

Pricing at the moment in Canada is $9.99 for a single person and $14.99 for up to 6 people in the same household. So I guess you can't share with your friends, although I have no idea how it's going to know. After all you don't always use the same network as each other in the day, now do you?

With the Premium version you get the ability to have it keep playing in the background and on the lock screen. The Free version stops when you switch apps or lock the screen. You also don't get ads with Premium and the ability to download the music to your phone to play offline.

It's the middle of a month right now and I'll be going premium on the 1st of next month. You (like most times) get the first month free to try it out. Being that I am more than happy with the interface and sound quality, I'll keep it as my streaming service. I was going to go with Google Play Music - but there is talk this is going to replace it soon and well, this is just better as there is the option for video as well as just music.

To see it on your PC or Mac click .: here :.

Also YouTube Premium is $11.99 ($2 more and includes YT Music) and you get the YouTube original content and no ads on YouTube. So it may be worth it to go for that. Sadly it does not include free rentals of the for rent movies - would be nice to get 4 or 5 free rentals with it.

Alright, tomorrow I go for coffee with the regular group. We do so enjoy our outings. I'm going to have something small to eat. Nothing big as the place is expensive as hell. But I may have a slice of pie or something with my coffee.

After getting the things I need and after a good friend sent some money, I have $65.80 to spend on myself the rest of the month and I'll be happy. I don't need fancy, I just need out of here now and then.

I am swearing not to have a big meal out for the rest of the month, but I will get some treats in now and then (not often). I was up this week, more so than I would like - so I am going to try hard to be good.

I'm almost finished with Game of Thrones. I'm on Season 7 (the current one) and have 4 episodes left to watch. Might watch 1 or 2 more today and the others tomorrow after coffee.

I am amazed actually that when I saw an episode years ago that I did not like it and passed it off. But I'm glad I decided to give it a go from the start and got very deep into the story.

In any event, I have pulled my back but it's not a bad one this time - the Robax works on it well enough to do things. Well that's about it for this day in Dave Land. You have a good one.

P.S. I saved $20 in my PayPal for my subscriptions next month. I would LOVE to have the Google Play Music in that pile of subscriptions but there is too much talk it will be taken over by some dang YouTube music player for more money - I do NOT want that, I just want a simple music streaming service - not a video service.

Weight Week 16

Once again processed food has bit me in the butt. The pizza I had the other day has me all puffed up from the preservatives in it. Not fun and it's hard on my knees at the moment. But oh well, back on track next week as I have no real choice, I can't afford to have pizza all the time. I do however have the money to go out for coffee a couple times a week till the end of the month.
